Game rules overview

This page contains a summary of the rules of a game in RRRummy. Read the page about a specific rule to learn all details of that rule.

Most of these rules also apply to Rummy games in general, including Tile Rummy.
  • The game is played with two full decks of playing cards (totalling 104 cards). As an alternative, you can choose to play with a set of tiles in four different colors, numbered from 1 to 13 (like in Tile Rummy). In the RRRummy help files, the word cards is used to refer to both cards and tiles.
  • At the start of the game, each player is dealt a number of cards. More »
  • Playing in turns, you should try and play your cards into valid melds onto the table. More »
  • In some games, you only have a limited time to complete your turn. More »
  • You win the game if you are the first to get rid of all your cards. More »
  • A game may be played with a set of cards that also contains two jokers (wildcards), that can be used in place of any other card. There may be restrictions on how you can use jokers. More »

  • In some games, there is a discard pile from where you may take a card, and where you have to play a card in each turn. More »

In some games, you must play to the discard pile even if you can win the game. More »
